PageRank Indicator
Let's address to the original documents once again. The fragment from Chris Rajdingsa's article "Explained PageRank" in Alexander Sadovsky's transfer is adduce thereunder .
"PageRank is Google method for measurement of page "importance"... The Google theory says that if the L page refers to B page then A page considers B page as an important one. The reference text is not used in PageRank. PageRank influences also on the importance of references to the page. If many important references point the page then this page references become also more important...
PageRank is a figure characterizing just voting ability of all references entering to the page and the intensity of their recommendation of the page. Each unique site page, which was indexed by Google, has it's / own / influence, PageRank.
Internal site references are considered at calculation of PageRank influence for other pages of site ".
Both algorithm of calculation of page importance, and numerical value of this indicator itself are termed PageRank . It is possible to see the meaning of this or that page PageRank by means of the Google tools panel (Google toolbar, the panel of tools for a browser). There is a corresponding indicator showing PageRank value of a page, displayed at the moment in a browser window.
PageRank indicator displayed on the panel of tools has only 11 values, from 0 to 10. But figures 1... 10 are not real scales of pages, used in Google searcher, they just give approximate representation about quotability of pages.
The meaning of PageRank indicator is the most easier for understanding if you will imagine that it is a probability of occurrence of the user on the page. If there is no one referense on the page, probability that somebody will come to the page is equal to zero. If there are many references from other pages on the page, users can transfer via these references. The more quantity of references, the higher probability of user coming.
The more PageRank has an initial page, from which the reference conducts on the page we are interesting in, the more probability of transition of users via this reference. Thus, PageRank indicator, just as Yandex CY, considers not only quantity of external and internal references to the page, but quality of each reference also.
